About the hotel
Nestled in the gentle hill country of the Canavese region, just a stone's throw from Turin, Villa Soleil has stories to tell about the splendor of bygone days. Built in the early 18th century and masterfully restored, it stands as a testament to the masterpieces of architect Alfredo d'Andrade. Within its walls live the memories of the poet and librettist Giuseppe Giacosa, whose words penned for such Puccini operas as La Bohème, Tosca, and Madame Butterfly, became world-famous. Born in the tranquil Canavese region, Giacosa managed to enter the illustrious world of the arts and bring them into his own idyllic country house. Personalities like Carducci, Boito, De Amicis, Pascoli, Sarah Bernhardt, Eleonora Duse, Puccini, and D'Annunzio were among the distinguished guests who left their mark on this charming refuge in the heart of Piedmont.
