Langenlois - Lower Austria - Austria
This winery produces outstanding wines including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, while Wine & Spirits named Willi Bründlmayer “Best Austrian Vintner of the last 25 years”.
The Renaissance Winery in Langenlois
Located in the centre of the historic town of Langenlois, in the midst of the Kamptal wine-growing region, is Heurigenhof Bründlmayer, a Renaissance farm originally built in the year 1140. It was here that Willi Bründlmayer found the ideal setting in order to present his latest wines & sparkling wines, as well as many a treasure from his vinothèque in a relaxed atmosphere.
In summer, this wine-grower’s house captivates with its peaceful inner courtyard. And in winter, what cosier spot than in front of the open fire. Visitors interested in new architecture are provided with an exciting contrast to the traditional Heurigenhof by Wine World & Hotel Loisium, which is just a short stroll through the vineyards away.
Tasting Menu & Vintage Wines
In autumn 2018, Marco Gangl and Lukas Humer, both of whom had been part of the highly decorated kitchen team in recent years, jointly took over the reins in the kitchen. Their culinary training had previously included stints at Landhaus Bacher and with Toni Mörwald
The kitchen style shows a preference for highest-quality seasonal products shaped by the local Waldviertel region, while remaining open to the wider culinary world. Enjoy the Heurigenhof classics, or perhaps a 4, 6 or 8-course tasting menu. The menu features well-balanced, excellently matured Bründlmayer wines, and a perfectly matched dish served with each.
All wines of the current vintage can be enjoyed by the glass and taken home at farm-gate prices.
The cautiously renovated vinothèque invites wine lovers to taste and acquaint themselves with the Weingut Bründlmayer selection in a stylish-yet-cosy setting. As an accompaniment, guests may also decide to enjoy a bite or two from the kitchen, such as oven-fresh grapeseed bread and marinated mountain trout, and of course, Kamptal-style bacon (“Wurzelspeck”)
Picnics amid the Kamptal vineyards
Heuriger Bründlmayer offers special picnic baskets, intended to give visitors an opportunity to sample outstanding local wines from Langenlois, right there amid the vineyards beneath open skies.
The plateau of the Käferberg where world-renowned Grüner Veltliner grapes grow, with fabulous views out over vineyards such as the Dechant, Ladner, Loiser Berg, Steinmassel and all the way out to the famous Zöbinger Heiligenstein, couldn’t possibly be any more delightful or romantic.
Three lovely guest rooms invite visitors to extend their stay and get the most out of their time at the winery.
