Mid-September Philipp Patzel took over the management of Vienna’s most charming boutique hotel, the Altstadt Vienna, in the arty quarter of Spittelberg.
After over ten years employed as the GM of Vienna’s boutique hotel Hollmann Beletage, as well as gourmet restaurant Hollmann Salon and the new Hotel Underneath The Mango Tree in Sri Lanka, Philipp Patzel has now accepted a new challenge.
As of mid-September, this passionate tourism professional – as he describes himself – has been running business at the Altstadt Vienna. His many years of experience in the tourism and marketing field will bring a fresh wind to the hotel. “The art of hospitality coupled with the courage for creativity have been core elements of this establishment from the beginning”, states owner Otto Ernst Wiesenthal. Philipp Patzel wishes to build on that: “A very good hotel is all well and good. But we wish to make the Altstadt Vienna the best boutique hotel in Vienna.”
“I wish to express my gratitude to my predecessor Kristin Oberweger for handing over to me a hotel that functions exceptionally well, with sensational employees and a marvelous group of regular guests”, says Patzel about the departing general manager.
The Altstadt Vienna is the city’s premier location for artists and lovers of the beautiful things in life. With 45 rooms in the Spittelberg quarter of Vienna, guests of the house are greeted by a marvelous encounter between art and people. All amid a sincere atmosphere and impressive architecture.
