Modern comforts and a historical ambience – not a contradiction!
Over the 1200-year history of Brixlegg in the Tiroler Unterland region, the “Herrnhaus” has had a prominent status for centuries. The existence of the Herrnhaus was first chronicled in 1416. When mining for precious ores was at its zenith in the mountains of Tyrol, the house was resided in by owners of the hammermills. In 1809 – the year of Tyrol’s struggle for liberation – famous freedom fighter Andreas Hofer held a council of war at the Herrnhaus. Today, the “Herrnhaus” is an unpretentious country inn with outstanding cuisine (recipient of 86 points in the 2017 Falstaff Restaurant Guide) and rooms with every comfort.

Culinary enjoyment is neglected either …
…be that at breakfast in the morning, or in one of our historic dining rooms or the outdoor restaurant for lunch or dinner. With Christian Moigg and son, Lukas, in the kitchen, and Sandra Moigg in charge of guest services, the living embodiment of the spirit of this house, the family runs the Herrnhaus with a true passion for every detail. Wild game from their own hunting grounds is one of their specialties, as is traditional Tyrolean cooking, though also with clear international influences. That said, the Moigg family’s team constantly surprises with new, delicious and creative ideas, without ever shortchanging tradition. They use herbs and vegetables from their own prize-winning organic garden, while the table décor originates from their garden as well. Enjoy all the amenities of our family business and the pampering you deserve. We look forward to your visit! Sincerely,
The Moigg Family
