Villa Le Barone
Villa Le Barone
Greve in Chianti - Tuscany - Italy
Beauty, serenity, authenticity and hospitality are the key words to describe the castle hotel Villa le Barone south of Florence: an elegant and refined country house amidst the glorious hills of Tuscany, close to the famous Romanesque church of San Leolino in the town of Panzano in Chianti.
Castle hotel & restaurant in the heart of the Regione Toscana
The 4 star hotel Villa le Barone boasts a total of 28 rooms, some with their own terrace, each appointed and decorated in its own style. The hotel rooms are in the main villa and in the former agricultural buildings which were recently renovated. The salons are inviting, elegantly designed with furniture and pictures drawn from past époques.
Dinner, based on typical Tuscan recipes, is served in the hotel's restaurant, which formerly housed the wine cellars, or out on the terrace weather permitting. Wonderful little secluded hideaways are found in the park-like setting, where guests can find a quiet nook to read or just to sit and soak in the beauty of the surroundings hills.
The hotel's own swimming pool is set amidst a colourful rose garden of many different varieties, your eyes roaming across vineyards and olive groves, even the tennis court affords breathtaking views of the surrounding hills of the Chianti region.
Yet this marvellous hotel in the Commune Greve in Chianti is located centrally enough that you are within effortless reach of many of Tuscany's most beautiful towns, as you are some of the world's most renowned wine producers. Whether on your own two feet or pedalling along on a bicycle, each outing is a source of genuine enjoyment and complete relaxation.
Villa Le Barone and the Della Robbia family
As far back as the Renaissance, Le Barone was already the seat of the Della Robbia family. When it came into the possession of Duchess Franca Visconti, a descendant of the original owners, it was transformed into a small luxury hotel.
Count Corso Aloisi de Larderel and his wife, the current owners and descendants of the duchess, now look after their guests. They make every effort to greet their hotel guests in person, to ensure the continued style of this establishment and to meet their guests' highest quality expectations.
