The historical jewel, designed for the Guerra family from Turin according to plans drawn up by the Venetian architect, Renato Renosco, and completed in the flowery gothic Venetian style by the Art Nouveau master builder, Attilio Maguolo, in 1905, has recently been luxuriously revitalised with much attention being paid to detail. The owner, Vjeskoslav Martinko, thereby fulfilled his long cherished desire to put into being his life’s personal motto "tradition-hospitality-creativity".

With three concerts, the international Festival Kvarner in Opatija started in 2010.
