Rovinj, regarded as the Saint-Tropez of the Adriatic

At the forefront of Rovinj’s historic harbor, regarded by many as the Saint-Tropez of the Adriatic, boldly stands VILLA TUTTOROTTO. While glaring over the picturesque fishermen’s port on one side, the main entrance, privately situated on the other side of the villa, is just a few steps away from the bustling Piasa Grande.

Villa Tuttorotto, almost half a millennium old, has been in permanent possession for over half a century now. During it’s painstaking restoration, the owners succeeded to conspicuously introduce the last word in technology into the Villa, while preserving all of its historical, cultural and religious relics and attributes, and also maintaining the wealth of period features.

Boutique hotel and museum

Each of the five floors of the Villa are styled in their own selection of marble and furnishings, while harmoniously incorporating  the luxury, boutique hotel restoration and the discrete contemporary technology designed for the  comfort of its inhabitants. The breath taking promenade through the Villa starts with the ground floor museum that spans the centuries. It continues with a slow walk up along the spacious marble stairs that are encircled by the walls covered with lusciously heavy art objects, antiques and old maps. Should this exercise not be enough, the fifth floor conveniently located gymnasium should do the job. The custom made and unique elevator is always an alternative.

Villa Tuttorotto  has just a handful of fantastic rooms (4 doubles and 2 singles), and one suite, available in any combination-including reserving the whole floor - with a balcony, fabulous terrace and a lounge with a historical fireplace.

Rooms with view at the pine-tree forests

Each of these rooms has a beautiful view at the port and at the endless pine-tree forests that cover the nearly island of St. Catherine and the peninsula of Punta Corrente. The rooms, each individually designed, are centrally air-conditioned and equipped with a mini bar, personal safe, flat screen satellite TV, wireless internet access and, above all…with the breathtaking view!

Private dinners are offered on the balcony, for a limited number of romantic souls, under the scarce light of the candles and torches.

Let us convince you that the husted and enticing atmosphere of Villa Tuttorotto make it more like an aristocratic home -away from- home than a hotel.

An extension of the villa and its aura, filled with art and antiques, may be found in the hotel’s very own shop, the ANTIQUARIATO MASATO (Ital. for “Masato Antiques”), which virtually leans up against the walls of the Villa.  In this shop, you are certain to be engaged by authentic works of art and furniture representing the last three centuries of Istrian history. And who knows, you might also be prompted to buy something. In the relaxing atmosphere of the gallery, you will probably be unable to resist an aperitif at the marble table standing in the shop’s foyer.

On a hot summer’s day, what else is there left to do but to dive into the crystal-clear water. You can do so at the town beach, which lies right below the church walls (just a few minutes from the villa), or you can ride the ferry to St. Catharine’s or St. Andrew’s Island (the “Red Island”). But if you would like to be more proactive, you can take a stroll along the Punta Corrente (or borrow a bike) and search for a small private beach of your own, stretch out on a smooth rock and enjoy the sunshine penetrating through the pine trees above you.

When your skin has accustomed itself to the sunshine, you can set sail for whole new horizons.  Hotel management will be happy to organize a daytrip on a sailboat or a fast motorboat for you. A wonderful way to see the untouched natural beauty of the archipelago, including the famous Brijuni Islands, summer residence of Tito  (the former Yugoslavian President) and one of the most beautiful nature parks in the Mediterranean region. These trips are private and are custom-tailored to guests’ wishes. You simply need to pick up the picnic basket put together for you by the owner, then away you go.

It is possible to enjoy practically every form of water sport imaginable in the Rovinj region.  Arrangements for tennis, beach volleyball and horseback riding are also easily made for those in search of active outdoor experiences.
