The historical jewel, designed for the Guerra family from Turin according to plans drawn up by the Venetian architect, Renato Renosco, and completed in the flowery gothic Venetian style by the Art Nouveau master builder, Attilio Maguolo, in 1905, has recently been luxuriously revitalised with much attention being paid to detail. The owner, Vjeskoslav Martinko, thereby fulfilled his long cherished desire to put into being his life’s personal motto "tradition-hospitality-creativity". The hospitality encompasses a warm welcome and an intimate atmosphere just as much as the facilities of a spa and wellness area with different treatments and massages, heated pool, steam bath and tennis court.

Tradition and Creativity is, above all else, the main theme to be found in the cuisine of the elegant hotel restaurant, "Kaiser Franz Josef". Within a short period of time the restaurant has developed into a gourmet temple for the speciality cuisine of the Kvarner area.
