The Landhotel Falkner stands high above the Danube, on a rocky ridge that drops steeply to the river below. For 5 generations – with the 6th already born – guests have been comfortably accommodated here at “House Falkner’.

The original Haus Marsbach No. 2 had belonged to Schloss Marsbach prior to 1936, originally serving as the home of hunters, but now a country hotel boasting all the comforts. In the property rolls of 1668, there is mention of the “Home of the bailiff, previously built into an overseer’s house”. The existence of Schloss Marsbach was first chronicled in 1075 and has since had a very colourful history. The so-called Jägerhäusl has been first leased, then owned by the Falkner family since 1924.

The ancient cultural landscape between the Bohemian Forest and the Danube, known as the Mühlviertel, is still treated by many holiday-makers as a fiercely guarded secret. Pristine landscapes, cultural treasures, its proximity to Bohemia, hospitable people – filled with curiosity, you are about to embark on a journey of discovery, while enjoying a stay at the Landhotel Falkner with all of the comforts of a stylish, tradition-rich house with a home-style atmosphere.

A library with a fine collection of books, the personal hobby of Simone Falkner, a winter garden, pool house with a beautiful garden, dining hall, piano room, the Danube Terrace. Outstanding gourmet cuisine featuring organic ingredients, with which the owner, Maximilian Falkner, is enthusiastically involved, and a wine cellar featuring Austria’s very best wines, looked after by our sommelière, Julia Falkner.

Golf – individual and stress-free

Enjoy a round of golf with friends amid a unique natural setting. The owners recognised this growing trend some 15 years ago, investing in their own course in the early 1990’s. The Pfarrkirchen course now counts itself amongst Austria’s most beautiful. Small, but definitely a true gem!

The Landhotel Falkner is partners and charter members of the Pfarrkirchen Golf Club. The affiliated golf school is one of Austria’s few PGA of Austria golf schools. This guarantees the very highest quality, along with international acceptance of course-qualifying standards and handicap improvements. A rich golf-course-offer wait for you.
