Alpine Luxury Hotel Post **** Superior, Post Schlössl

The Hotel Post complex in Lermoos brings the Hotel Post**** Superior, the historic Post Schlössl**** and the Post Gartenhaus together under one management. Hotel Post is one of the oldest 'taverns' in Austria to have continued in unbroken operation right up to the present day. The ancient Roman road, the Via Claudia Augusta, which led from the German provinces over the Fernpass to Italy, passed this very spot.

The earliest records show that there was a staging post here for post horses in 1560. This grew from a simple tavern into a hostel, then an inn, and finally into an hotel. Over the centuries, the original 'Post' building has been extended several times, always with close and loving attention to detail and a feeling for its importance. This former traditional 'Post' inn has now been developed into today's 'Post' complex, consisting of the Hotel Post, the Post Schlössl and the Post Gartenhaus. In 2004, the Post Schlössl, a nationally listed building, was completely renovated by its owners, Angelika and Franz Dengg. Then, from spring to December 2006, the Hotel Post was converted and extended into a new luxury superior quality **** hotel, whilst at the same time retaining its historic character.

Post Schlössl is a nationally listed building and an architectural treasure. This stately home, which dates back to 1560, has been restored with great attention to detail and has been furnished and equipped to the highest standards of comfort. The entrance hall alone will make the heart of the connoisseur beat faster with its ancient walls and arched ceiling – suffused with light and with all the panache of a grand building. Antique furniture has been collected together over the centuries and many of the favourite pieces of the Dengg family have found a home here. They lend the 'Schlössl' - small castle - its own particular atmosphere of quality combined with tradition. But for all its history and elegance, the 'Schlössl' is exceptionally comfortable, and a perfect dream. For quality does not derive from what it claims to promise, but from its delivering what it has promised. A wooden staircase leads to the small number of apartments and suites.

No two suites are the same, and each one offers something unique. Guests will discover generously proportioned suites, fairy-tale rooms with tiled stoves, small, cosy nooks with panoramic views and beautifully appointed apartments with and without kitchens. There is, in addition, a much valued bonus for guests staying in the Post Schlössl. They are able use the spa area, the fine bars and restaurants, and the sun terrace of the Hotel Post, only 50 metres away.
